New President of ISOA Announced

Washington, D.C. – 10 April 2013 – The International Stability Operations Association (ISOA) Board of Directors announced today that it has selected a new President to lead the association. Mr. Ado Machida will be joining ISOA as President on April 15, 2013, serving in the Washington, D.C. office.
Mr. Machida comes to ISOA after an extensive career in government relations working within both the public and private sectors. He is former Vice President of Government Relations at BAE Systems, the world’s second largest defense contractor, and a former Partner in charge of Administration and Executive Branch representation at the law firm of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, and LLP. Prior to that, he spent two years at The White House as Chief Domestic Policy Officer for the Vice President of the United States and as Director of the Office of Domestic Policy for the Office of the Vice President.
"After two years in the White House and nearly a decade in the private sector working with government agencies, I look forward to helping ISOA to engage in a proactive way with policy-makers and legislators about the vital role that our more than 50 member organizations play in helping to stabilize and develop some of the world’s most vulnerable communities,” said Machida, new ISOA President.

ISOA is the premier trade association for organizations supporting stabilization of the world’s most fragile environments. ISOA members implement programs including international relief and development, logistical support, training and mentoring, the rule of law, expeditionary medicine, transportation, construction, police training and security.
