Beginning in the summer of 2011, ISOA conducted their bi-annual Code of Conduct review and revision process. After the four month long process, ISOA was pleased to introduce the ISOA Code of Conduct, version 13.1.
►What is the Code of Conduct?
TheISOA Code of Conduct is a constructive effort towards better regulatingprivate sector operations in conflict and post-conflict environments anddisaster relief. ISOA recognizes that improved standards benefitclients, international stability operations and the industry itself. All ISOA Members are signatories to the ISOA Code of Conduct.
►What has changed?
Throughpublic comments and meetings, ISOA along witht the Standards Complianceand Oversight Committee has revised the ISOA Code of Conduct. Version13.1 features many improvements and additions including:
- Referencesto the UK Bribery Act, International Code of Conduct for PrivateSecutiry Providers and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
- The inclusion of new clauses regarding gender violence, subcontracting and training.
- Reference to signatories' individual company codes of conduct.
- General reorganization of sections for clarity and ease of reference.
