Committees & Working Groups

ISOA’s Committees and Working Groups facilitate necessary dialogue among the association and those it represents, as well as among Member organizations internationally. ISOA acts as a forum and a clearing-house for rapidly-changing information, and assists members to develop proposals for action on a real-time basis. These may be ad hoc task forces of members in locations abroad, coalitions of the willing to take issues to Embassies, the Pentagon, State or the Hill, or working groups of members trying to solve problems or source supplies. Having personnel serve on committees and lead working groups ensures that Members have a positive influence on association activities and have access to information on trends and issues related to the industry at large.

Government & Legal Affairs Committee (GLAC)

The GLAC provides a forum for ISOA members to raise relevant legislative and regulatory issues affecting the peace and stability operations industry. The purpose is to collaborate and develop new approaches or a unified approach and/or best practices to address those issues.


Membership Committee (MCom)

The Membership Committee is charged with recruiting and approving new member companies and organizations to the Association in addition to reviewing and voting on new member applications. In doing so, the MCom performs due diligence on applying organizations, uses their own field experience and may do interviews with principles of potential member companies.


Private Security Company Committee (PSCC)

The PSCC is a forum for companies and organizations working in or involved in the private security industry to discuss specific issues related to private security companies (PSCs). The PSCC works very closely with the GLAC, sometimes collaborating on responses to developments on the Hill and in the international sphere.


Standards, Oversight & Compliance Committee (SOCC)

The SOCC maintains, revises and oversees the implementation of the ISOA Code of Conduct to ensure that the highest standards in the Stability Operations Industry are met by ISOA members. The SOCC agrees upon, promulgates and applies standards, as well as provides a forum for the discussion of member compliance with standards, and promotes consensus on best practices.


Small Business Committee (SBCom)

As the newest of all the ISOA committees, the SBCom provides a platform for all Small Business Members in ISOA to voice their concerns and focus advocacy issues related specifically to small businesses in the industry.


Board of Directors

The ISOA Board of Directors is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the association and overseeing the association’s activities implemented by the staff, to ensure that programs align with the organization’s mission and strategic goals. Board members are volunteers and represent a broad range of organizations from the stability operations industry.
