21 December 2012

Dear ISOA members, partners and friends,

ISOA is ending 2012 as a healthy organization that is poised for expansion in 2013. We will be making some significant improvements going into the New Year that will position ISOA for further growth.

At the same time, the planned changes afford me the perfect opportunity to take the next step in my own career. I will be leaving my full-time capacity at ISOA and assuming a role as President Emeritus, through which I will continue to support and contribute to the organization and be an advocate for the stability operations industry into the future.

As the founder of ISOA, I am enormously gratified that the unique and amazing companies engaged in this vital international work have embraced the ideals and goals of the association. While there is still much to do, the industry has coalesced and improved over the past decade. The industry has taken enormous strides in creating professional standards and addressing the concerns of stakeholders who work in the same areas of operation as our membership.

I believe ISOA and the industry bring great value to international efforts in addressing conflict and disaster. I am honored to serve as President Emeritus and will continue to support ISOA in the years ahead.

Sincerely,

Doug Brooks
ISOA President, 2001-2012
